Driving Directions
From St. Paul / Minneapolis
- 1Take I-94 East toward Wisconsin.
- 2Take Exit 253 for Manning Ave / Stillwater.
- 3Turn right (south) onto Manning Ave S.
- 4Continue south on Manning Ave S for approximately 10 miles.
- 5Turn left (east) onto 70th St S.
- 6Turn right onto Peller Ave S. Afton Alps will be on your left.
From Hudson, WI / East
- 1Take I-94 West toward St. Paul.
- 2Take Exit 253 for Manning Ave / Stillwater.
- 3Turn left (south) onto Manning Ave S.
- 4Continue south on Manning Ave S for approximately 10 miles.
- 5Turn left (east) onto 70th St S.
- 6Turn right onto Peller Ave S. Afton Alps will be on your left.
Parking
Afton Alps offers a large main parking lot adjacent to the Alps and Meadows lodge. Overflow parking is available in the upper lots during peak weekends.
Ski Patrol Headquarters
The Ski Patrol first aid room and headquarters are located at the top of the main hill, inside the Alpine lodge. Look for the red cross sign above the entrance. During operating hours, a patroller is always on duty at the ski patrol first aid room. Ski patrol vehicles are parked in the designated patrol area near the base of the Alpine Lodge.

Ski patrol is on duty whenever the mountain is open. Hours vary by season — check the Afton Alps website for current operating hours.

Winter driving
Roads to Afton Alps can be icy or snow-packed during winter months. Allow extra travel time and consider 4WD or all-season tires.
Peak weekends
Parking fills quickly on busy weekend mornings. Arriving before 9 AM is recommended on high-traffic days.
Public transit
Afton Alps is not served by public transit. A personal vehicle or rideshare is required to reach the resort.
